Our Florida arrival

Our plane landed a little late, due to the fact that in Toronto, takeoff was delayed to allow time to remove a piece of baggage belonging to a passenger who failed to board. When we deplaned in Fort lauderdale, Hubby was very excited to talk to a fellow passenger who was a professional football player for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. I have no idea what they were saying because my ears were plugged from the flight. They are still plugged and when I laugh, yawn or sneeze they snap crackle and pop like a bowl of Rice Krispies.

The lovely lady who drove our car from Toronto was waiting for us at the airport. Our car looked a lot cleaner than when it left Toronto. Our driver took it to a carwash before meeting us. So far things were going well. However we were wondering what surprises were waiting for us at the condo. The condo is old and originally belonged to my Father In Law. In previous years, we have arrived to find the roof blown off from a hurricane, a missing balcony , leaks and a non working swimming pool, Two years ago our kitchen appliances disappeared when we left a contractor to do some kitchen updates.  For the past few seasons our phone, television and computors didn’t work and The Miami Herald wasn’t delivered as pre arranged.

This year we were pleasantly surprised. No leaks– telephones, computer and T.V. were working and the paper was delivered. There was even water in the pool and it was open. Yes! Hopefully this will be a good year.

  1. Although I grew up in South Florida, I’ve never been to Fort Lauderdale. Glad everything was in working order this year. Hope you have a wonderful time. 🙂
